The Call List
A printable call list — the people you’ve been meaning to ring, what you’d say, and when you’ll actually do it.
Goes with the story When You Get This.

Before you start
This one can bring up grief, especially if there’s someone you can no longer call. That’s allowed. If you need to pause, pause.
Steps
- Write down five people you’ve been meaning to call. Not text. Call.
- Next to each name, write how long it’s been since you properly spoke.
- Next to that, write one sentence you’d say. It can be as simple as “I was thinking about you.”
- Pick one name. Write a day and a time next to it.
- If there’s someone on your mind you can’t call any more, write their name at the bottom of the page anyway. Then write one thing you’d tell them.
Write
Who have I been meaning to call, and what’s stopped me?
Is there a message I’ve left on “unread” because tomorrow feels safer?
Who might need me to pick up, even if it isn’t an emergency?
Sit with this
Samuel told Daniel: “We all put things off. It’s not a failing. It’s being human. What you do with it after — that’s the part that’s yours.” Sit with the part that’s yours.
The Ripple
Make one call from your list this week. Afterwards, write one line about how it went.

Questions I Ask Myself
One story. One thought. One different direction.
